　　1、Westward movement refers to the movement of residents in the eastern United States to migrate to the western region. It began at the end of the 18th century and finally ended at the end of the 19th century and the beginning of the 20th century.

　　However, with the westward movement, a large number of Indians were slaughtered, and the survivors were forcibly driven to the more desolate reserve in the West.
